I started off spring break at the wedding of one of my friends. She and her husband have been together about the same amount of time as my boyfriend and I have, and I’ve known her since freshman year of college. It was exciting to get to see her tie the knot.
The wedding took place at the Estate on the Halifax near Daytona Beach. The weather was a lot colder than we were expecting, but it was still a nice time.
The ceremony took place outside at a gazebo and the reception took place in the cutest reception hall. It had light everywhere and their color scheme of purple and yellow matched perfectly with the style of the room.
The second half of what would have been by spring break was spend on the three day cruise with Simon and three of our friends. The cruise went to Nassau. Please excuse my lack of photos, we were having too much fun to think about taking pictures 🙂
Thursday morning we headed out around 9:30. Simon and I drove together with our friend Megan and the two and a half hour car ride seemed drag on forever. When we got there we met up with our friends and immediately went into relaxation mode.
We took some pictures and enjoyed a drink as the ship embarked. All of our nights on the cruise typically went the same. Dinner was at 6:00 where we all ate as much as we could. From there, we would hop around to different bars and nighttime activities on the ship until we eventually ended up in the club where we would stay until around 2:00 in the morning.
After we left, we would head up to get some pizza and end the night hanging out and eating our 24-hour pizza.
Friday was our day in the Bahamas. The weather was in the low 70s and it was overcast and rainy. We walked to the beach and spent some time looking at the water before it started raining. At that point, we decided it was time to get back on the boat.
The jacuzzi was so warm and the movie Justice League was playing. We hung out just about all afternoon, enjoying the warm in the cold. After the hot tub, we played cards and hung out at the lobby bar.
Our evening was similar to the one we had before, and just as much fun!
Saturday was a day at sea and the last day on our trip. We spent most of the day by the pool and playing games. Megan and I went to the Love and Marriage Show (like the Newlywed Game) and laughed our butts off!
That night, the boys wanted to go to the casino so the girls choose to go around to the different bars. It was so much fun having a girls night! We ended the night with pizza as usual, and it was the perfect end to a great trip!
It’s so hard to believe this was my last spring break (even if it’s not really). If you want to read about my last cruise, look no further than here.
