This week of my Disney College Program was a special one because it was the week before my graduation. I told myself I didn’t have to apply for any jobs and I was able to just enjoy my last couple of days of being a college student.
Friday was a lazy day for me. I woke up late and even once I was up I didn’t do much of anything. I spent most of the morning in front of the TV catching up on shows and watching movies. While I wish I would have gotten more done that day, I was also glad I had a chance to just hang out and relax.
That afternoon I worked at Riverside. It was a very busy day and basically didn’t stop from the time I got there until the time I left. The nice thing about busy days is they go by quickly and there’s always something to do to help the time go by. I’m never happy when it means my dinner time has to be pushed back though haha!
Saturday marked the one week countdown to my graduation!! My week started off with me finally getting a graduation dress. I went to Disney Springs with Emily to see what we could find. The second store I walked into I was able to find my dress (you’ll have to wait to see it though!).
After finding my dress we walked around and looked at the Christmas trees. There’s a huge set up of trees in part of Disney Springs, each one decorated like a different Disney movie. At night, they even have a DJ and it snows! I’m definitely going to have to go back and see it at night.
That afternoon I had to go to work. It was my last day deployed at Riverside, at least for the next two weeks. When I was first deployed over to Riverside I was a little disappointed, but after all the time I’ve spent there I’ll miss it. That night if was still busy, but not as busy as the night before. I ended up extending an hour and left at 12:30 instead of 11:30.
Sunday was another lazy day. My sleep schedule is different because I’ve been working late and still trying to wake up at a decent time. Shelby wasn’t feeling well so I spent the majority of my day waiting at the clinic for her. I didn’t mind though because I had plenty to do (but didn’t actually end up doing any of it).
That afternoon I worked at French Quarter as the runner. Sunday’s are typically slow days, and this Sunday was even slower than usual. I was also chilly that day, meaning every time I walked outside I got to expedite the nice weather!
On Monday I had the day off. I ended up spending a chunk of my day getting my tire fixed though. I ran over a curb and had to have two tires replaced. It was definitely not how I planned to spend my day.
That evening I watched Christmas movies with my roommates Shelby and Rocío. We watched a new Christmas movie on Netflix and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I had been trying to watch the movie from beginning to end for weeks and was finally able to!
Tuesday was another day off. I went on a safari backstage tour at Animal Kingdom first thing in the morning. We got to see where things are backstage and go on a special safari.
Afterwards I went to IHOP with some people from work. We ended up hanging out there for several hours just eating and chatting.
I then headed over to Disney Springs to walk around with one of my friends from work. We walked through stores and looked at all of the merchandise. On my way to Disney Springs though, my check engine light when on. Because of this I had to cut my time at the springs short and go get my car looked at. It ended up not being anything too serious, but I still needed a couple of things done to it. I spent several hours waiting for my car to be done.
Once my car was done it was time for the thing I had been looking forward to all day, La Nouba! It has been a dream of mine to see La Nouba since I was in elementary school and I finally got to see it. One of my biggest goals for the program was to see the show and I’m so glad I did. It exceeded my expectations and was such a great show to watch.
On Wednesday I worked the Service Your Way shift during the day. My shift was from 11:00-7:30, and even though I finished making all of my calls by around 5:00, I still had to just hang out and wait the last couple of hours for my shift to be over.
Once my shift was over though, I took an Uber over to Fort Wilderness. I went to Hoop-Dee-Do with Emily, Shelby, Katarina, Rocio and one of her friends. My seats weren’t as good as last time, but I still had a great time as always! After the show we went to Wilderness Lodge and walked around some before heading home. It was a long and exciting day.
I spent Thursday morning packing up and getting ready to go to Gainesville for the weekend. At this point I was officially less than 48 hours away from my graduation. After spending the morning packing up, I had to head into work to be the afternoon runner. It was a busy afternoon and there was a lot that needed to be done. Thankfully though, I was still able to finish early. I asked if I could leave and when they found out about my graduation I was allowed to go.
There was also a hot chocolate bar at work that day 🙂
I arrived in Gainesville around midnight, got Taco Bell with Simon, watched some Blue Bloods and then headed off to sleep.
Be on the lookout for next weeks post about my graduation, but in the meantime take a look at what I’ve been up to during my program so far here.
