This week of the Disney College Program was a lot of fun because I got to mix up what I was doing. I went on a trip to Gainesville and got to experience some Christmas cheer within the park. I also worked at a couple of different resorts, which I always love doing!
Friday morning I woke up and headed back to Orlando so I could make it to work in time. My shift that day started at 4:00pm over at Riverside, giving me a little extra time to get back up to Orlando and get my life together. Every time I leave home recently it’s been getting harder and harder. I enjoy being and home and I don’t like feeling the pressure of only being able to be there for such short periods of time.
On Saturday I had picked up a shift at Fort Wilderness and I LOVED IT!! The costume, the people, the location, it was all great. They have lanes there, which is basically where a person pulls up in their car and is checked in by someone in a booth. I was able to go in one of those booths and check people in! It was pretty slow there and everyone was very relaxed. I was able to hang out with our fellow cast members working with me.
Also, as I was leaving I saw a deer. It just stood there and stared at me while I walked by. So cute!!
Sunday I had the day off! Days off are my favorite because I have time to get things done, but I also have time to go out and have fun. This particular day was no exception. I spent the morning getting a jump start on my to do list and catching up on some things that needed to be done. I did some cleaning, some writing and some job applying.
That afternoon though, I was able to head out and do something different. I first went to the Mall at Millenia to try and find a graduation dress. After trying on upwards of 15 dresses, unfortunately no dress. I was able to stop at some other shops nearby though and get some Christmas presents for friends and family.
After shopping I went a picked Shelby up from work. The Festival of Holidays is going on at EPCOT and we wanted to try some food. We didn’t realize it closed and 8:00 though, and by the time we got over to the world showcase it was too late. We still walked around the countries though and went on the Frozen ride (it was Shelby’s first time!).
This week I was deployed to Riverside again. That afternoon I worked and in the morning I got my things organized.
I was supposed to get out at 10:15 and started at 3:00. After work I was driving to Gainesville and I asked for an ER (early release) around 7:30. I said I wanted it as soon as possible and by 7:40 I was allowed to leave. After work I headed straight to Gainesville. I ended up getting to Gainesville around 10:00 and spent the rest of the night with Simon watching Blue Bloods.
Tuesday I was in Gainesville for the day. I had a meeting to go to, but besides that my day was free. Simon had volunteering in the morning, so I took my time waking up and getting a start on my day. I watched some TV, did some work on my laptop and got ready. Simon finished volunteering at 11:00 and we headed to lunch at Chipotle. I never thought I would miss Gainesville as much as I do.
We spent some time hanging out at his apartment and watching Blue Bloods after lunch until it was time for him to go to class and for my meeting. Afterwards, we went to dinner at Blaze. I was basically eating at all of the places I haven’t been to since moving to Orlando.
After dinner we went to the library for a couple of hours. Simon had an exam the next day and I had work I needed to catch up on. I was able to get a lot done, and it felt like the old days being back at the library working on stuff.
I spent the morning on Wednesday in Gainesville. Simon had class so I just hung out at his apartment and got ready for the day. I went and picked him up and we stopped by a local citrus sale and bought 20 POUNDS of citrus!
After he was done with class, we ate leftovers from the day before and watched Blue Bloods. We used to watch the show together all the time, but we haven’t been able to since we’ve been in different places.
After spending some extra time with Simon I headed back to Orlando for work. I had to go straight to Riverside to work because of all of the traffic and while I was happy I got to spend extra time with Simon, I was not happy I didn’t have time before work.
Thursday was another regular day. I spent the morning getting things done. I went to the gym with Emily and Katarina, worked on job applications and did some cleaning.
That afternoon, I worked at Riverside again. It was a slower night, but it was nice because it wasn’t too slow. A perfect in between 🙂
Next week is my graduation week and I’ve got plenty of exciting things in store. Be sure to tag along, and check out what I’ve been up to in previous weeks here.
