Wow, my final week of the Disney College Program is here. It’s been such an amazing, stressful and unique experience and I’m so happy I was able to share it with you.
Friday morning marked the end of working overnight shifts. I tried to wake up at 1:00, but ended up waking up at 3:00 instead. My sleeping schedule was really off and I woke up feeling tired and ready to go back to bed.
By 5:00 though I was as awake as could be and couldn’t shake it until around 11:00 at night. I took advantage of being awake for so long though by packing everything. I spent three hours or so getting it all done and basically had everything packed by 10:00 at night. The only things left were the things I needed leading up to the day I left.
My mom came up Saturday around noon to help me move the majority of my stuff home. Before we started moving though we went to the International Drive area and had Shake Shake for lunch. I had been craving a burger since my graduation, and it definitely hit the spot. We then spent some time packing the car so I wouldn’t have as much to move.
That evening I went to EPCOT with one of my friends for work. We had VIP seating for the candlelight processional and walked around the countries.
Sunday was New Year’s Eve. I had to work all afternoon, but there was a lot of food at work which honestly made it okay haha. Before heading into work, I spent the morning getting ready for the year ahead and organizing my planner.
I headed into work around 2:30 for my afternoon shift. My shift ended at 11:15 and I had just enough time to make it home, open some champagne and FaceTime Simon. It may not have been the most exciting New Year’s Eve, but I’m excited for the year to come.
Unfortunately I spent most of the day on Monday packing. I worked a short shift, but I had to finish getting everything ready to go so that I could enjoy my last couple of days.
Tuesday was my last day of work. It felt so weird to walk in and go through the shift motions for the last time. I spent my morning unpacking and headed into work around 1:30. I only worked until 9:00 and I was very ready for my shift to be over, but also sad when the time finally came to go home.
Wednesday I was done working, meaning I had the whole day to have fun. We started the day with breakfast at 1900 Park Faire in the Grand Floridian. It was a freezing cold, rainy morning, but we made the most of it. The food was sooo good and I was able to meet the Mad Hatter, Pooh, Tigger, Alice and Mary Poppins.
After breakfast we headed home and spent some time packing up the kitchen. It was a daunting task but didn’t take nearly as long as I thought it would. After the kitchen was packed, we had to say good bye to Emily.
That afternoon, I went to lunch at Panera with Shelby, her boyfriend and his aunt. When lunch was over we ran errands and went to Ulta for one last make up run and to Target to get some organization stuff.
I had dinner at Boma with Shelby and Simon and spent the night at a hotel with Simon so I wouldn’t have to worry about moving anything out in the morning. We ended up being upgraded to the Junior Presidential Suite and it was the nicest resort I’ve stayed at in my life. We had so much fun hanging out in our giant room!
Thursday was my last day living in Orlando. We woke up, packed up and headed out. I went back to Vista Way one last time to turn in my ID and apartment key. Once I was officially done with Vista, I went to Disney Springs with Simon for lunch. We walked around some and ate lunch at Earl of Sandwich.
I still had a little Christmas shopping to do (I know, I know…) so we headed over to the outlet mall. Simon and I did some shopping and I was able to get the rest of the stuff I needed.
The last stop we had to make was to French Quarter to return my costumes. It felt to weird to head into costuming one last time.
And just like that, I was headed home to unpack and get my life back together.
