Back several months ago when I planned to write this post I had a dream that I would be writing it wearing a sweater and enjoying the cold weather. Here I am though, wearing a cardigan and roasting because it’s still 85 degrees. Regardless, it is technically fall, so here’s what a day off in my fall life looks like. I wanted to give you a peak into my daily life. I have been working hard recently to balance having fun and keeping my life together.
I woke up in the morning excited to have a day off. After making a cup of coffee (of course) I perched myself on the couch. Then I grabbed a blanket and a wedding magazine and settled in. I spent 20 minutes or so waking up and enjoying the morning. My favorite thing to do during the morning is to drink coffee and not worry about needing to quickly get dressed. The lack of time in the morning is the one thing I really don’t like about working morning shifts.
I then spent some time cleaning up and getting ready for the day. Since I live in the housing provided by Disney occasionally throughout the semester they come in and do inspections to make sure everything looks clean and is in good condition. Our apartment was being inspected the following week so we needed to make sure we were ready and everything was clean.
In the early afternoon, I headed over to my friend Katarina’s apartment. The plan was originally to head to the gym, but we ended up eating pirogies and hanging out for a way longer time than we intended to.
Afterward, we eventually went to the gym. I went on the elliptical for 30 minutes and it felt good to just do something. I’ve been pretty awful about going recently. It’s hard to manage your time when there’s so much work and life stuff going on.
I spent some time after the gym doing laundry and even more cleaning. It seems like no matter how much time I spend cleaning there’s always more to do.
I then had to go over to Saratoga Springs to pick up my costume for the shift I was picking up in a couple. The building was in an area I hadn’t been before, but it was pretty easy to find and the lady getting me my costume was very kind.
In the evening I went to Magic Kingdom to meet up with one of my roommates and a couple of her friends. We ate dinner at Pecos Bill’s. While I’m not a huge fan of some of their food, but I love the chips!
After dinner, we went to Ulta and TJ Maxx. As usual, I ended up spending too much money, but it was all stuff I really needed (of course).
My days aren’t overly exciting, but I still try to meet the most of all of my time here at Disney. The next time you read about a day in my life, it’ll be around Christmas and my birthday. Crazy, isn’t it??
Be sure to take a look at my Summer Day in the Life too!
