I absolutely love my birthday! I always joke that it’s my favorite holiday. This year was no exception and I had so much fun celebrating with family and friends.
Thursday was my actual birthday and such a fun day! It was weird because it was my first time being home on my actual birthday in several years. I started my morning with coffee in my birthday cup.
I had lunch with my grandma who recently broke her hip and is currently in rehab. We ate Chick-fil-a and chocolate cake in the family room.
After lunch my family and I headed over to Tampa for some birthday shopping with my brother. Dinner was at Sweet Tomatoes and so delicious! I definitely over-ate, but it was so worth it!
Friday was when my birthday festivities really began. I headed back to Disney World for the weekend with Simon and Jerick to enjoy things like a guest. We started our day at Animal Kingdom where I met up with one of my old roommates, Shelby. We walked around and looked at animals, went on a couple of rides, and Jerick saw Pandora for the first time.
We were staying at Port Orleans Riverside (the resort right next door to where I worked!) and it was so fun getting to actually stay in one of the rooms. I was in a Royal room. The story behind it is all of the princesses came and visited Tiana and each left her a gift. We looked around the room to find all of the gifts from the princess and it was super cute!
Dinner that night was at the table service restaurant, Boatwrights. While it wasn’t necessarily bad, I was definitely expecting a bit more than what I actually got.
After dinner we went on a carriage ride around Port Orleans French Quarter. It was so neat because I had always seen the carriage rides but never actually got to go on them! After the carriage ride it was time for bed so we could be up early the next day.
The plan on Saturday was to hit up EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. We started off our day having beignets for breakfast over at French Quarter. The food was delicious, but also SO MUCH!
Once breakfast was over we spent the morning at EPCOT. Simon and I renewed our passes and we walked around the countries. We were also able to go on Frozen Ever After.
As soon as the ride was over we had to run over to Hollywood Studios for our dinner reservations at 50’s Prime Time Cafe. It was such a fun dinner! Our server was so great and really played up my birthday. She had everyone in our section sign a birthday card for me and everything!
After dinner it was time for Fantasmic, but not before Simon and Jerick met Kylo Ren from Star Wars. Shelby and her boyfriend, Andrew, met up with us after and we watched Fantasmic.
Once we got back to the resort we headed over to The River Roost Lounge where we saw YeeHa Bob Jackson perform and had a couple of drinks.
Sunday was the final day of my birthday weekend. We had breakfast a Kona Cafe, one of my favorite breakfast spots in Disney World. They have banana stuffed French toast and it’s one of the most delicious breakfast foods I’ve ever had.
After breakfast we headed over to Magic Kingdom to finish off our trip. It was such a great weekend!
